My child fits into one of the Colts age groups, but has not played before - can they join?

Absolutely they can! We welcome Colts of all ages and abilities and will do our best to help get them interested in playing and most importantly, having fun. If you want to know about training sessions to come and try out the fun, along with other useful information for parents click here

The Colts Kit Exchange

Our Colts Kit Exchange initiative is a 2nd hand cricket equipment exchange/assistance for the Colts section.

The key purpose of this is to help with the costs of new kit for Colts/Parents. No sport is particularly cheap to participate in these days, especially for many parents with children who want to do multiple sports.

By providing an exchange and assistance service, we hope to make cricket more accessible for as many as we can.

For Example:

- Should someone be after some bigger kit, ie a bat, we can exchange for the next size up and use the swapped bat for someone else.

- Should someone be after kit but hasn’t anything to exchange, all we ask is you give a small donation towards the club.

For further information and help, please feel free to reach out to Stephen Osgood on stephen.osgood@hotmail.co.uk

Who runs our Colts Program?

Dax Ward is our amazing Colts Co-Ordinator having taken on the role in 2022 and 2023 with great success, and he oversees the Colts program as a whole, also being part of the club committee. Each team in each age group have their own Coach/Team Manager too.

Parent Involvement

We are entirely managed and driven as a club by volunteers and while this has always been traditional, it does also mean we are regularly on the look out for more volunteers! A large amount of our current volunteers are either current or former Colts parents - if you feel there is anything you may be able to help with, be it Bar shifts to umpiring, Team Managers to Committee member, please do let us know. No matter how big or small the offer of help is, it will be greatly appreciated.

General Colts Information

Summer training is from April to the end of July, and winter training is from January/February until the start of the summer.  For Winter training in 2023/2024 we are again using the wonderful facilities of The Ageas Bowl, something we have done for the past few seasons.

Sessions are open to both boys and girls. In the summer we aim to have friendly and competitive matches throughout the season.

Training in the summer is at our home ground The Hollow, in Sarisbury Green.  We will have our home matches there and also on 'The Green' just down the road.

The club has achieved ECB Clubmark accreditation. ECB Clubmark is the English Cricket Boards club accreditation scheme for grassroots cricket clubs with junior sections.

Clubs are required to meet minimum standards across four key areas:

1. Duty of Care and Safeguarding Children;

2. The Cricket Programme the club offers;

3. Knowing your club;

4. Club Management.

Achieving ECB Clubmark accreditation is an acknowledgement that we take these issues seriously and that we are striving to provide a high quality and welcoming environment for young participants in cricket.
