Different ways to support SACC

As we start to build towards the summer season it’s about time I got in touch with you as members of our great club to outline some areas where we could do with your support in the coming months.

Much of our spending relates to our grounds and our ability to facilitate young people playing the great sport that we love. It is this that underpins all our fundraising activities, and it is a great cause. Anyone who has witnessed the scenes on a Friday evening with good weather and our coaches in full flow teaching and entertaining our colts would surely agree.

In this letter I intend to lay out several ways you can help to support the club – some requiring more than others – but hopefully there is something for everyone.

We are a registered cause with easyfundraising.org.uk which requires no effort on our members part beyond downloading the donation reminder apps (Apple or Android) or on windows etc.

Every time you shop online we get a percentage donated to us by easyfundraising. It’s a scheme used in a number of schools around the region and hopefully something you are familiar with (or can be). Any help you could provide us using this platform would be gratefully received.

How it works                                      Main site

Wristbands

If you visit the club now, we have some wristbands in our club colours for sale for £1.50 – with all proceeds being given to the colts’ section of the club. They are in a box on the bar and can be purchased there. What better way to show your support for our great club!

100 Club

We recently relaunched the 100 club – a lottery with a draw each month with the winners receiving 25% of the prize pot and runners up 15%. 10% of the prize pot each month goes towards the summer super-draw. The more who enter – the more you win! £60 for the year.

Sponsored Cycle

The biggest fundraising success of 2023 is back with a vengeance – aiming to finish on the membership day - 23rd March. In association with ID PE & Sport we will be cycling for 24 hours to raise money for colts’ cricket – including running a cricket camp during the late summer – free at the point of entry. This is a fantastic cause and so many of you supported us last year by taking an hour slot on the bike, some more successfully than others. Sorry for leaving you alone for a few minutes Cal!

Advertising Boards/Banners

We are on the look out for any companies that wish to advertise at allotment road. If you are involved with a business that would like to support us or can spread the word we would be very grateful. £500 will secure a banner on the perimeter of the ground for the 2024 season.

Please contact sponsorsathcc@gmail.com and let us know and we will do the rest!

Match Ball Sponsors

We still have a couple of match ball sponsors available – this is £600 and covers the cost of the league match balls for a season. Sponsors will be recognized on our web page and in regular social media updates such as team releases/fixtures and results etc.

Please contact sponsorsathcc@gmail.com if you would be interested!

Comedy Nights

This is very much a hidden gem from Mike and something we are incredibly proud of. Early Feb sees Angela Barnes of Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo fame grace the hollow clubroom for what will be a great night out. Winter can be a bit dull so why not raise your mood and have a few laughs!

Tickets are available here – and proceeds raised go towards supporting our young cricketers.

Those who attended or have seen the distribution of papers from the AGM in November will know that we have reached the point where we can no longer invest in our infrastructure and need to focus on the day to day running of the club.

The more support we receive from our wonderful membership, sponsors and the local community – the more we can continue to provide bigger and better opportunities to all those who play cricket in our name.

I hope the new year finds you all well, and look forward to seeing you around allotment road and cricket fields near and far in the near future.

Kind Regards
